HISTORY OF THE HALL

The Old Church House was built in the 60th year of Queen Victoria’s reign by public subscription for the Parish Church – 1897/97.

It was used as a Church and Community Hall until the 1970s. During this time it is also said to have housed the Tring Library for a short time.

The Parish Church eventually gave up its use and it was purchased by the Tring Youth Club, receiving support from the County Council Youth Dept. When running a Youth Club on the site became no longer tenable during the late the 1980s the Hall was placed in trust for the Youth of Tring.

It is now run by a management Committee on a voluntary basis. The Trust holds charity status.
